Foi um quinteto vocal feminino formado por 5 irmãs americanas, Jamie, Georgie, Jody,
Reggie e Stevie Ente, de origem Filipina. O grupo foi descoberto pelo tecladista GEORGE DUKE que arranjou e produziu este único álbum do grupo que, apesar da alta qualidade dos vocais, teve vida curta. Uma curiosidade: o grupo atuou na série de TV americana "The Hollywood Palace".

Third Wave was a pop jazz vocal group consisting of 5 teenage Filipino sisters from
Stockton, California that was discovered by George Duke, who produced and arranged this album, for German label MPS. The album is a beautiful collection of pop and jazz numbers with pretty good vocal harmonies.

ALBUM REVIEWS
This is an incredible Jazz vocal group from a musical family of Jazz musicians residing from Northern California. Recorded in the 60's, backed by the George Duke Trio/Orchestrations, this is as natural and swinging as Jazz vocal groups come. Their phrasing, harmony,intonation and background of the Jazz idiom will astound even the most purist Jazz listeners. Listen to these sisters sing and you'll set new standards for your enjoyment of Jazz or any vocal ensemble!

MINHA OPINIÃO: muito agradável e homogêneo o "blend" das vozes das meninas do "Third Wave", confirmando a alta qualidade sonora dos conjuntos vocais (principalmente femininos) formados por membros da mesma família. Os arranjos de George Duke são bem urdidos e vestem adequadamente um bom repertório que mescla temas de jazz, ("Cantaloup Island" e "Maiden Voyage", de Herbie Hancock), pop ("Stormy") e Beatles ("Eleanor Rigby"). "Breezy", é o termo que define perfeitamente o clima do álbum. Muito gostoso de se ouvir.
